At the beginning of this there is a mid shot of Taylor Swift walking outside of her school, this is done via a tracking shot of her supposedly walking out of school home. As she is getting tracked it then focuses on a boy by the tree. This then makes it start to relate to the lyrics and the song title "love story"
Then as the song goes on a little it shoots to a close up two shot of that boy and her which then creates the song to be illustrative and then it relates to the song title "love story" therefore this creates an image of the first 10 seconds being a flashback of how they met until now.
At this scene the mid shot shows her in a wedding outfit which is creating a story about what has happened which is then relating to the lyrics of the song which mentions about a flashback which then brings us back to the opening shots of them seeing each other. The lighting in this scene is bright and colorful to present happiness and "love". Where she is located matches her outfit which creates a coordinated setting.
At this point the lyrics still relate to the video as he is "making his way through the crowd". The use of the name romeo implies that they are creating another version of Romeo and Juliet but into a song. This close up image here of him brings us into the video to give us the feeling that he is looking at us thinking we are her. This scene presents that they are going to the "dance/ball" like the do in Romeo and Juliet.
This shot is a mid close up whilst being a tracking shot of them dancing this kind of relates to it being their "first dance" but also it matches their mise en scene as it is tudor times and the way their dancing style also matches the mise en scene. The "love story" is being shown, so it shows that the story line is still ongoing which means the video is matching the song.
This shot is a panning shot of the lyrics being illustrative to the video creating more of the image. The props used present realism as she is "sneaking" out in order to see her love that she apparently isn't allowed to see. But still this relates to the story of Romeo and Juliet but also the dark lighting shows that it isn't a good time of this relationship as they have to do it secretively for it to be okay.
This close up shows how in love she is with him and how much she wants to be with him because of happiness and love. This relates to the song title "love story" Also there is a dark background but a light focus on the two "lovers" to present happiness between them but the darkness shows that what they are doing is bad because what they are doing is wrong.
This two shot shows them finally going to be able to come together as they are zooming/tracking on each other as they are about to marry and leave to be happy. This shot is supported by the bright lighting to show happiness and love. Also the mise en scene matches the lyrics as they are in wedding clothes.
There is then a flashback of a shot reverse shot to go back to the beginning of their "first sight of love" then refers back to her at the start of her new love beginning when she started to get "married". It then shows that there was a story and it ended up in happiness to prove that there was a "love story". All the bright lighting and close ups show their emotional and main happiness that they both can finally be together.
